Professor Peter Church OAM has spent all of his 50+ year career living or working in South-East Asia and India as a lawyer, corporate adviser and author. More recently he has turned his hand to hosting a podcast to record the life stories of elderly Myanmar citizens before these stories are lost.

Many of these stories are remarkable as they help explain why Myanmar is in the dire situation it is today. In his talk he will tell a few of these extraordinary stories as well as some of his own personal experiences in the country since the 1980s and his own conclusion of why the country is where it is today.
