On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Ireland's membership of the EU, the Irish Consul General in Sydney, Rosie Keane, will discuss Ireland's EU journey from being an isolated island on the periphery of Europe with a small economy to being one of the most open, globalised and progressive societies in the world.

The discussion will also touch on key events including the Good Friday Agreement, the Global Financial Crisis, Brexit and the historic same-sex marriage referendum, and how these events have helped shape modern Ireland.
