He has worked extensively in strategic policy across Australia’s leading think tanks, in the university sector, and globally for the UN Industrial Development Organisation and Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development.
From 2023 - 2024 Huon led the development of Australia’s first Telecommunications Resilience Profile while at the Australian National University Tech Policy Design Centre. At Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Huon designed a whole-of-defence cyber security career.
Stephen Chey is a cyber security consultant and a founding member of Chey, Curtis and Plant, a critical infrastructure resilience advisory firm. He has over 30 years of experience in the planning, implementation and operation of ICT services in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Stephen is an advocate for Australian cyber security and delivers cyber security technology and services to the Australian Government agencies and banks, telecommunications service providers and other critical infrastructure operators.
From 2017 - 2024 Stephen led the development of IBM’s cyber security relationships with Australian governments and critical infrastructure operators including its global outreach program on post quantum cryptography.
