Is the Korean Peninsula poised to join theatres such as eastern Europe and the Middle East in seeing a revival of long-standing threats to international stability? Join us on the evening of Tuesday 16 April for a panel discussion between Dr Duyeon Kim, Center for a New American Security and Richard Broinowski, immediate past president of AIIA NSW, moderated by current president Ian Lincoln.
Dr Kim will discuss whether war is likely on the Korean Peninsula (if so, whether there are implications for Australia) and possible pathways to conflict. She will unpack North Korea's latest aggressive rhetoric and changes to its policies and explore South Korea's hardened position. She will address questions being asked in Korea about US extended deterrence and the importance of risk reduction. Mr Broinowski will draw on his diplomatic experience and his expertise on arms proliferation to assess the risk of a destructive outbreak of a new Korean war and its likely repercussions for the Asia Pacific and the wider world.

We welcome participants in-person at the Glover Cottages, tickets to be pre-paid . Once the limit for in-person attendees is reached, tickets will no longer be sold on the website or at the door.
